Clergy of the Society of Jesus who worked mostly in Japan. He was Portuguese and was born around 1538. He entered the Society, in Goa, in 1555, and was ordained priest before 1563. He arrived in Japan in 1564 and he started working in Hirado. In 1570 he blessed Ômura Sumitada’s marriage to Maria Madalena Isahaya. After a period during which he had some doubts, he finally left Japan in 1576 and, soon after, the Society, having been dismissed by Alexandre Valignano on 23 October 1576.
