This knight of the Royal House left for India, as captain of the 1502 fleet, to become the factor of Kochi, a post he kept until 1505, when he returned to the kingdom. He was also named by Vasco da Gama judge of weights of pepper in Kochi. Some records mention a nobleman called Diogo Fernandes Correia who was, in 1515, a Knight in the Order of Christ.
