Merchant living in Macao in the first half of the 17th century, he was an opponent of the Society of Jesus during the contention of Ilha Verde in 1621. He is referred to in a citizens? list (?Lista De La gente Efetiua que Ay Em esta Ciudade Assy, Vizinos Como estrauagantes forasteros E gente De lla tierra?) of 1625 as being married and resident in the parish of S. In 1631, upon insistence of the Leal Senado (Loyal Senate), which opposed to Lopo Sarmento de Carvalho, he should take the journey that he had bought to Saint Thomas of Mylapore.

He signed the Term of May 31st, 1642 on the occasion of the acclamation of Dom João IV. He was among the citizens who approved the reinforcement of the partial autonomy of Macao in relation to the State of India and who, therefore, elected the associate Procurators of the people in 1643. In 1644, he served as Judge of orphans. Between 1645 and 1646, he participated in the debate on sending an Embassy to Japan.
