Merchant living in Macao in the first half of the 17th century, he was a Clerk in Santa Casa da Misericórdia of this city in 1600, 1601, and 1608.
By 1621, he was married and about 53 years old. He supported the formalisation of the Macau-Manila travel in that year, and he was an opponent of the Society of Jesus on the issue of Ilha Verde.
In 1625, he supported the Society of Jesus, which opposed to Friar António do Rosário in the matter of the election of Bishop Dom Diogo Valente for Governor of the Bishopric of China. He is referred to in the inhabitants' list of 1625 («Lista De La gente Efetiua que Ay Em esta Ciudade Assy, Visinos Como Estrauagantes forasteros E gente De lla tierra»).
He participated in the debate of 1631-1637 on the new type of election for travel Administrator, imposed by the Viceroy Count of Linhares upon suggestion by the Chief Judge Sebastião Soares Pais.
In 1641, he was among the twenty oldest citizens that were considered the greatest authority in what concerned government policies.
If he is Domingos de Carvalho da Roza, he lived in the parish of Santo António in the above mentioned city, and he signed the Term of May 31st, 1642 on the occasion of the acclamation of D. João IV in Macau.
