Clergy of the Society of Jesus who worked mostly in Japan. Born in Kawachi around 1566, he was also known as Aleixo Xinji. He was admitted to the seminary in 1583 and in 1589 he entered the Society of Jesus. In 1603 he was at the Kori residence, in Omura, where he was the companion of father António Fernandes and a preacher. In 1606 he was still in Omura, but from February 1607 on he became a member of the Fudoyama residence, in the Nagasaki region, where he preached. In 1614 he left for Manila and returned to Japan in 1618, but was ordered to move on to Macau, for Japan didn´t need so many brothers. Aleixo didn´t obey and asked to be dismissed from the Society, a wish that was granted; he kept on serving the Church as a kanbo (the mission's help).
