Clergy of the Society of Jesus who worked mostly in Japan. He was born in Lisbon in 1559 and died in Macau on 4th October, 1615. He arrived in Japan in 1576 or 1577 and was admitted to the Society in 1579. In March 1598 he left for Macau, but in August 1600 he was back at Nagasaki; nevertheless, he returned to Macau once more in March of the following year. On 1st May, 1602, he took vows as temporal coadjutor. In 1606 he returned to Japan and became sub minister of the novitiate and then of the Nagasaki college. He left for Macau definitely in November 1614; he was in charge of the vegetable garden and, then, became a sacristan.
