Clergy of the Society of Jesus who worked mostly in Japan. He was born in Ubeda, Spain, around 1556, and died in Nagasaki on 7th May, 1626. He was admitted to the Society on 14th May, 1579, and entered Japan on 21st July, 1590. He professed the spiritual coadjutor vows in 1599. At the time he was one of the founding members of the Yatsushiro residence in the Konishi Yukinaga territory. Then he worked in Shimabara, of which residence he was the superior in 1603, having remained there until the summer of 1607. In July of the same year he moved to Nagasaki and became the companion of the bishop D. Luís Cerqueira, a position he probably held until 1612; at the time he was also purveyor of the bishop and vicar general. In 1613 he was in Osaka; in February 1614 he returned to Nagasaki where he stayed during November and where he worked until the day of his death. He was appointed counsellor to the provincial Mateus de Couros in 1617. He was never captured by the Japanese authorities.
