Member of the Company of Jesus who worked mainly in Japan. He was born in Casto di Valsabbia, Breccias, around 1530, and died in Nagasaki on April 22, 1609. He was admitted to the Company in Ferrara in December of 1556, when he was already a priest. He left for India on March 18, 1567, aboard the Anunciada. In India he took 3 vows on November 30, 1568. He arrived in Japan on June 18, 1570. He worked in the region of Myakka between 1570 and 1588, and returned there in 1590. He took 4 vows in Osaka on May 31, 1591. He had to leave Myakka in 1596. In the following year he was advisor to the vice-provincial official Pedro Gomes. He returned to Kyushu, after having spent twenty years in the center of the empire. On October 24, 1598, he expressed the desire to return to Myakka, a wish that was soon granted to him by Alexandre Valignano. In 1606, he returned definitively to Nagasaki, where he would die three years later, at the age of 79.
