Clergy of the Society of Jesus who worked mainly in Japan. Born in Segóvia around 1560, he died in Japan on 27 December, 1606. He was in Lisbon in 1586, leaving for India on 13 April of that same year. He remained in Macau between 28 July, 1588 and 23 June, 1590, arriving in Japan July 1590. In 1592 he sent to Europe a treatise entitled Concordia Divinae Providentiae et Liberi Arbitrii. On 4 June 1601, he professed the four vows in Nagasaki. In 1603, he served as Professor of Cases of Conscience, collaborating in the training of the Japanese priests. On 23 September 1604 he conducted Father João Mateus Adami´s theology examination and, probably around the same time, Father Vincente Ribeiro´s as well. He was among the most stalwart advocates for the admission of the Mendicants in Japan.
