Clergy of the Society of Jesus who worked mostly in Japan. He was born in São Gonçalo de Amarante around 1563 and died in Manila on 12th March, 1615. He was admitted to the Society of Jesus in India in March 1577 and moved to Japan in 1581. In 1587 he went to Macau and returned to Japan in 1590, already an ordained priest. In 1599 he professed his spiritual coadjutor vows. In 1603 he was at the Uchime residence and was thence transferred to Urakami in 1606, where he carried on until 1614. In November of the same year he left for exile in Manila, where he would die.
