He was son of Fernão Fogaça. This nobleman of the Royal House was Knight Commander of Puços and Maças in the Order of Christ. In 1505 he went to India in the fleet of Dom Francisco de Almeida. He had received the nomination for the captaincy of Quíloa, where he remained with about eighty men, being replaced afterward by Francisco Pereira Pestana and transferred to the fortress of Socotorá, where he would pass away in 1510.
