Ielala rocks, situated on the left bank of the Zaire River, close to the Ielala Falls, approximately 150 km from the river's mouth. There, one can find inscriptions made by the crew of the second fleet captained by Diogo Cão. On the first rock the Portuguese coat of arms and the following words were inscribed: "Here came the ships of the enlightened King João II of Portugal Diogo Cão Pêro da Costa"; on the second rock one can read the names of "Álvaro Pires and Pêro Escobar"; on the third rock are the names of "João de Santiago Diogo Pinheiro Gonçalo Álvares" and of "João Álvares".
