Location
Clergy of the Society of Jesus who worked mainly in Japan. He was born in Nossa Senhora da Lapa, belonging to the diocese of Braga, around 1565, and died in Japan, between 1613 and 1614. He entered the Society when he was in Japan, in 1583. In 1593 he was still a brother, having then started to study Cases of Conscience; he probably stayed in Japan, and must have been ordained priest by Dom Luís Cerqueira, most probably in 1600. On 8th June, 1603, in Nagasaki, he took vows as fully-trained spiritual coadjutor. From 1606 on, he was the priest of the Misericórdia parish, where he remained until February 1613. His name is no longer mentioned in documentation from that time on, possibly because he died that or the following year - his death is still not accounted for in the annual edit of 16th March, 1614, a record of the events which had taken place until October of the previous year.
