Little is known about this Florentine captain, beyond his passage to India in 1502 as commander of Rui Mendes de Brito´s ship, which was part of Estevão da Gama´s fleet. Due to his participation in the conquest and destruction of Quíloa and Mombaça, he received a judicial order from D. Francisco de Almeida granting him the privilege of knighthood. The order was confirmed by King Manuel I in Abrantes, July 1507.
